Sarmad is the Head of Banking & Coverage, Middle East, Pakistan & Africa.

Sarmad joined the Bank in 2013 and has been instrumental in driving the performance for Corporate and Institutional Banking for Middle East, Pakistan & Africa.

Sarmad also served as the Senior Executive Officer of DIFC for Standard Chartered Bank from March 2015 until April 2018 and as a Board of Director for Standard Chartered Capital Saudi Arabia June 2016 to April 2020.

Prior to joining the Bank, Sarmad served in various senior positions across Middle East as Head of Wholesale Banking for Commercial Bank of Qatar, Head of Investment Banking for Morgan Stanley Middle East, and Regional Head of Financial Institutions & Public Sector for Citibank Middle East.

Sarmad is a member of Regional Management Team for Standard Chartered Africa Middle East and Management Team of Client Coverage for Corporate, Commercial & Institutional Banking.

Sarmad hold post graduate Law degree from University of Punjab, Lahore. He is married with two children & lives in Dubai.
