As Group Chairman of Lagata, an investment holdings company which invests in and operates a range of industrial and processing assets in West Africa for a positive impact, Rishi brings deep knowledge of the complex economic, financial, and political nuances of the region.

Rishi has embedded responsible investment at the core of Lagata’s operations, by focusing on growing business that can generate sustainable profits. He has been an advocate of creating businesses which are profitable, but also make positive social and environmental impacts.

Over the period of Rishi’s direction, Lagata has become a leading regional player, operating strong brands in a wide range of sectors.

Rishi’s attained his educational qualifications from Oxford University, and Harvard Business School. He has worked as an Economist at the Bank of England and as a Management Executive at Chevron Corporation, working across a number of different business functions over 3 continents, before focusing on impact investing in Africa. He previously served as a Director of Vivo Energy, and Interswitch.

He also serves a number of social organisations as a Board Member, such as the Iodine Global Network, a non-profit, non-government organization, working for the sustainable elimination of iodine deficiency worldwide, as well as being a leading supporter of Inspire Vocational Academies, the leading provider of Vocational Training to the bottom of the pyramid population of Nigeria.
