Dr. Kwasi Ampofo

Kwasi Ampofo is the Head of Metals and Mining at BloombergNEF, where he leads a global team of analysts focused on uncovering opportunities for the mining industry in the era of the energy transition. His work centres on the role of critical minerals, sustainability, and innovation in shaping the future of mining and clean energy supply chains. Kwasi also serves as a Non-Executive Director at AMIRA Global, a membership based organisation of international mining companies dedicated to addressing the industry’s most complex technical challenges. In addition, he is an Advisory Board Member for Mining Indaba, contributing to the development of the conference’s agenda and driving thought-provoking discussions on the evolution of the mining sector. He holds a BSc in Mining Engineering from the University of Mines and Technology, Ghana, and a PhD in Mineral Economics from the University of Queensland, Australia.
