Dr. Brooke Taye

Chief Executive Officer | Ethiopian Investment Holdings

 Dr. Brook Taye is the Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian Investment Holdings, the country’s sovereign wealth fund that serves as the Government of Ethiopia’s strategic investment arm. Before this role, he was the Director General of the Ethiopian Capital Market Authority, responsible for regulating the country’s securities market. Before that, he served as a Senior Advisor to the Ministry of Finance, contributing to the government’s economic transformation strategy, which included privatization, liberalization, liability management, sovereign debt issue resolution, and reforms of state-owned enterprises. Dr. Brook also has experience as an Investment Fund Manager at a private equity firm in Florida and as an Economist and Regulatory Analyst at a banking law firm in New York. 

Dr. Brook has a Ph.D. from Université Paris-Saclay, where his research focused on high-growth entrepreneurial firms in Ethiopia. He also has a master’s degree in law and economics from the University of Bologna, University of Ghent, and University of Aix-en-Provence and a Law degree from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London.
