Boma Rabala

Boma is a seasoned banker with over a decade’s experience in the banking and financial sector. His vast knowledge spans across business management, operations, sales and exemplary leadership where he has built a track of growth through his practical communication skills, strategic thinking and ability to develop high-impact relationships.
He currently serves as the Chief Commercial officer at CRDB Bank Plc., where he is responsible for implementing the bank’s commercial strategy and driving sustainable revenue generation through the bank’s corporate and retail businesses across all branches in Tanzania.
Boma joined CRDB in 2019 as the Director of Retail Banking. He oversaw the department’s transformation to a major contributor of the bank’s revenues and spearheaded the introduction of Islamic Banking and Bancassurance. He also transformed the card business commercial model to record growth. His efforts were recognized locally and internationally when the bank's retail arm was awarded seven international recognitions and awards.
Boma began his career as a management trainee with NMB Bank Plc. He rose through the ranks to various management positions in diverse business areas such as Retail Liabilities, Insurance, VAS, Consumer Banking and Card Business. Boma's strengths lie in his ability to think innovatively, drive revenue growth, lead large teams and his continuous pursuit of knowledge and professional development.
Boma earned his MBA in Corporate Management from Mzumbe University, Tanzania, and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Kampala International University, Uganda. He has also attended various trainings and development programs, the most recent one being an executive development program at Strathmore University. He serves on the boards of directors of a number of institutions including CRDB Burundi (designate) and Tanesco (The Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited)
