Dr Rufaro Mucheka

Business Development Consultant - Africa | Jersey Finance

With more than 20 years of experience in wealth management (private banking and financial planning) across Southern and West Africa, her most recent role was with Nedbank Wealth Management in South Africa.

A passionate advocate for the potential development opportunities arising across Africa, Rufaro is well known as a contributor to international conferences on investing in Africa, internationalisation strategies and nurturing entrepreneurship. She is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, an advisory member of the Women in Tech (SA) movement, an International Campaign Advisor for the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, a Certified Financial Planner professional (CFP®) and holds an MBA and PhD from the University of Cape Town.

Given her broad experience working in multiple African countries, she believes that Africa can make huge strides in achieving equal opportunities (incl. education) for all, increasing financial inclusion of women and building sustainable communities. Her doctoral study examined strategies used by South African companies as they internationalise into other African countries.
