milkah wachiuri
Chief Growth Officer | Cellulant
Milkah started her career at Deloitte as an auditor where she worked on various assignments across various industries that honed her skills in finance.
She later joined Cellulant to fulfil the audacious goal of building a billion dollar tech business in Africa for Africans and by Africans. In her time in the company she has set up the group finance function growing a team of 4 to 40 finance professionals who saw the inception of a working reporting and budgeting structure. She later rose to group finance manager and shortly thereafter to group CFO. At Cellulant, she has built and structured a finance function across 10 markets and raised 2 rounds of critical funding to grow the business, the latest one in May 2018 at $47.5 million (the largest of its kind in Africa for a technology business that is purely invested in Africa). She moved in 2019 to CGO of the business and is currently setting up a new department looking after inorganic growth and operational excellence to prepare Cellulant for its next stage of growth.
Milkah is a Certified Public Accountant, trained at Strathmore University, holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) degree from University of Nairobi and is currently pursuing her Global Executive MBA(GEMBA) at IESE Business School in Barcelona.
