Lisa-Marie Misztak is an award-winning journalist and producer at the BBC, where she works across TV and radio platforms. Her roles include presenting BBC World News, Focus on Africa TV, and the Africa Today podcast. Lisa-Marie's storytelling focuses on gender, trade, and development issues. Her latest documentary, "Samburu: The Fight Against Child Marriage," aired on BBC platforms and highlighted the critical issues of child marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM) in Kenya.
In addition to her journalistic work, Lisa-Marie is a passionate advocate for diversity and women's empowerment. Since 2019, she has served as the UK Ambassador for the Women in Africa Initiative (WIA), where she supports African female entrepreneurs. Her dedication to this cause was recognised when she won the Woman4Africa Woman in Media award in 2023.
Lisa-Marie holds an MSc in Globalisation and Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London.
