Hon. Judith Salvio Kapinga

Minister for Industry & Trade | United Republic of Tanzania

Hon. Judith Salvio Kapinga is a Member of Parliament of the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania (Category of Youth Representation) for the first term 2020-2025. As a representative in policy making, she is continuously advocating exclusively for youth and children agenda in reproductive health, employment and STIs (Science, Technology and Innovation). She is the Chairperson of the Tanzania Youth Parliamentary Forum (TYPF) a platform of all young parliamentarians in the 12th Parliament. She also serves as a board member/national executive member and legal adviser of the Tanzania Red Cross Society. She is also a council member of the Africa REACH Leadership Council and a member of the African parliamentary network on internet governance. 

Judith is a public speaker, influencer and author, she is the first chief editor of the well-known Tanganyika Law Society Law Reports, Law reports of the Bar Association of the United Republic of Tanzania and a panellist in preparation of the African Media Barometer report, the first home grown analysis of the media landscape in Africa, published 2015, amongst twenty more other publications. 

She is an advocate of the high court of Tanzania, expert in tax and labour law and further has comprehensive knowledge on areas around transparency, accountability and advocacy in health and education sector. She worked for the Bar Association in Tanzania and thereafter for one of the leading NGOs in Tanzania, (HakiElimu) before becoming a member of a Parliament. She is a law graduate of the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania and Master of Laws graduate from the same University.
