Renuka Methil is the Managing Editor of FORBES AFRICA, a multiple award-winning pan-African business magazine published by the Johannesburg-based ABN Group, and has been with the group for more than a decade in Africa. Prior to moving to the African continent, she lived and worked in various geographies and emerging economies in India, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
A university topper for her master’s degree in mass communication and journalism in the mid-90s in India, when there were fewer women in the media, her career took off in the big Indian metropolises of Bengaluru, Chennai and New Delhi with some of India’s biggest news dailies and magazines such as ‘The New Indian Express’ and ‘India Today’. Before moving to Africa, she worked in Dubai with Motivate Publishing charting the corporate space editing and writing about business, aviation, lifestyle and culture in the Arab world.
In January 2019, she received the 'Global Women Super Achiever Award' at the 6th World Women Leadership Congress and Awards 2019. Since 2016, with the ABN Group team, she has been curating the content of the hugely-successful FORBES WOMAN AFRICA Leading Women Summit consistently bringing together a powerful community of female trailblazers, visionaries and barrier-breakers from across Africa and the world. She has also moderated panels on various important platforms, such as the Forbes' global Under 30 summits.
