Dr. Ismaeil Al Zarooni

Vice President, Technical Services, Engineering & Technical Services Division | AD Ports Group

Dr. Ismaeil Al Zarooni is the Vice President of Technical Services, Engineering & Technical Services Division, at AD Ports Group. In his current capacity, he is responsible for managing the asset delivery of AD Ports Group’s global investment portfolio.

Dr. Al Zarooni is a Civil Engineer by profession and is experienced in managing the planning and delivery of major infrastructure projects. He has successfully managed the planning and delivery of major transportation and infrastructure projects, including seaports, maritime, and airport developments.

Before joining AD Ports Group, Dr. Al Zarooni was as a Programme Director, responsible for the development of an industrial facility in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Previously, he was Vice President, Planning and Development, at Abu Dhabi Airports Company, where he was responsible for management of the $3 Billion Support Facilities Programme at Abu Dhabi Airport. His experience involved supervising the design and planning the delivery of the Abu Dhabi Airport Midfield Terminal Complex (MTC). The MTC is a major development that comprises an architecturally distinctive terminal building with a capacity to cater for over 27 million passengers per annum, airside and landside infrastructure, car park and associated utilities.

Al Zarooni holds a PhD degree from School of Civil Engineering, University of Leeds; Master of Science (DIC), Concrete Structures, from Imperial College, University of London; and a Bachelor of Engineering, Second Class Honours (Upper Division), Civil Engineering, from University of Southampton. He also completed numerous leadership programmes and training courses across a variety of asset management related activities.
